What We Do
Founded in 2000, the Community Care Center is one of North Carolina’s largest and most comprehensive free healthcare clinics. We provide a wide range of medical services to uninsured patients whose family incomes fall below 250% of the Federal Poverty Level. Our dedicated team of volunteers, including top-tier physicians and specialists, offer primary care, dental and vision services, mental health support, and access to medications through our dispensary. We serve as a vital healthcare home for our patients, offering over 15 specialties and having cared for more than 25,000 patients since our inception.

How We Make a Difference
Our approach is holistic, compassionate, and community-driven. Here’s how we help:
Comprehensive Care: We offer services in cardiology, rheumatology, gastroenterology, ophthalmology, optometry, podiatry, and more.
Impactful Results: Patients experience a 75% reduction in ER visits, a 90% improvement in overall health, and a 93% increase in self-care.
Significant Savings: By providing free services and medications, an average of $5,530 per visit is saved and unnecessary Emergency Room trips are avoided.
Our Network of Partnerships is Strong
The Community Care Center could not do what we do without our community partners. From nonprofits addressing the social determinants of health to medical specialists providing free care for our patients; from churches providing meals for our volunteers to universities and colleges providing residents, nurses, and physical therapists; we are part of a wide network of people who care about individuals in our community who cannot afford medical care.
